2018 Public Policy Conference

Dear Distillers and Supporters of the Spirits Sector,
The American Craft Spirits Association and the Distilled Spirits Council invite you to attend our Public Policy Conference May 14-16, 2018, in Washington, DC, where members of the distilled spirits sector will meet with lawmakers and advocate in support of critically important issues.
Distillers of all sizes rallied to secure the first federal excise tax (FET) reduction on distilled spirits since the Civil War last year as part of the  Tax Cuts & Jobs Act . It was our collective voices that persuaded Congress to recognize the excessive tax burden on distillers nationwide and include a two-year version of the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act  in the tax legislation .
However, this monumental achievement is set to expire at the end of 2019, if we do not act now.
Join fellow distillers in Washington, D.C. to advocate that Congress make this critical tax relief, the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act,  permanent.
The public policy conference will include meetings with key Members of Congress, including those from your home state, a briefing with the administrator and senior staff from the Tax and Trade Bureau, an economic briefing on the state of the industry and opportunities to network and feature your brands during receptions with opinion leaders, media and colleagues. Details about the program can be found here:  2018 Public Policy Conference Schedule .
Your participation is critical. Members of Congress want to hear directly from constituents how the tax reduction impacts local businesses and community. YOUR stories are what make a difference on Capitol Hill.
Most importantly, unlike other Washington legislative conferences, your attendance is complimentary and there is no cost to attend this event.
Register here for your complimentary entrance to the conference: Register for the 2018 Public Policy Conference .
We have secured a block of rooms at the Phoenix Park Hotel within walking distance of the U.S. Capitol. Reserve your room  here  and enter the group code 22304. You may also call the hotel directly at (877) 237-2082 or (202) 638-6900 and provide the group identification code: ACSA.
We look forward to seeing you in May.
