OOLA Distillery has called Capitol Hill home since its initial opening in 2010. The Capitol Hill location is there to stay, but they’re happy to announce, on behalf of OOLA, that they will now be opening an additional tasting room in Georgetown. Distiller and Marketing//Events Coordinator Blake Greenly says “ Our Georgetown expansion, HQ-2, is like OOLA Capitol Hill’s artsy sister, still a part of the family and keeping the quality and morale alive, but getting funky with it. We love the appeal of Georgetown and all it has to offer. The vibe is so unique there and we want to compliment and play into that.” The distillery will be located at 6235 Airport Way S. Seattle, WA 98108, a beverage triumvirate with Lowercase brewing and Mercer Wine.
With HQ-2 coming into play and lots of new growth happening around OOLA, it was only fitting for them to bring on some new players. At OOLA, their team is more than just a co-working space. They’ve cultivated a family like culture and are selective with who joins their team.
Over the past year OOLA has added in new VIP’s that are killing it at the Distillery and out in the sales force.
We asked OOLA about their new team members, here’s what they had to say:
Meet Eric- You’ll see him all around Seattle working his magic and getting OOLA products onto the shelves of local bars. He has extensive knowledge in the bartending world and is a great asset to our team.
Meet Tristan- Tristan is one of the newest members and at 25 years old has a vast talent, curiosity, and intrigue for the distilling world. He works hand in hand with our production team and never backs down from an opportunity to learn something new.
Meet Jason- Oh this guy! Not only does he have two of the most adorable kiddos we’ve ever seen, He’s also a beast when it comes to distilling. He joined the team and dove in deep. Perhaps it’s his Kansas City roots or worldly experience. From being in the Navy as both a nuclear machinist’s mate and naval aviator he went on to get bachelor degrees in aerospace engineering AND environmental science prior to finding his very welcomed home here at OOLA. We’ll take brains with a side of dedication please!
Meet Blake- She’s like the added spike to our OOLA punch bowl! Full of kick and keeps energy up and the team full of laughs. She is taking lead on the new Georgetown expansion and runs OOLA’s marketing and events.
The advancement doesn’t stop there!
OOLA will be purchasing an automated bottling line in 2019. Big things happening call for some upgrades! This investment will give OOLA the bandwidth to keep expanding and supply the demands they love to have. They have also installed a new 24 plate Vendome Fractioning Still- She’s a beauty. OOLA will be holding a “Name Our Still” contest this winter.
And last but not least SPECIAL RELEASES!
Late November OOLA released a new batch of an old favorite. Their most popular whiskey, Whiskey Discourse C is back and available at the distillery!
Whiskey Discourse C (2018 edition) takes their 93-point, gold medal (SF International Spirits Competition) Waitsburg Bourbon Whiskey and finishes it for an additional year in 60-gallon French oak barrels from a 100-point Washington Cabernet Sauvignon producer. Only two barrels available in the 2018 release of Discourse C.
