Philadelphia Distilling is looking for a Warehouse Operator/Assistant Distiller

Philadelphia Distilling is a botanical-driven, full production distillery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Entering our 16th year in operation, Philadelphia Distilling was PA’s first distillery. In 2006 we launched, and have since continued to grow, our flagship spirit: Bluecoat American Dry Gin.  Our original 1500L hand-hammered copper pot still from Forsyths continues to produce Bluecoat, as well as our other award-winning spirits. We also operate a 2500L Forsyths still, as well as a 20 Bbl mash tun and four 20 Bbl open-top wooden fermenters from Hall-Woolford here in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia Distilling is looking to hire!

We are looking for a candidate to become our next Warehouse Operator/Assistant Distiller. This person would be responsible for:

Primarily:

Organizing our warehousing operations at our production facility daily

Loading and unloading trucks of inbound and outbound deliveries a few times a week

Delivering loads of product in our box truck to our local PA distribution centers biweekly/monthly

Picking up loads of raw materials from our offsite warehouses biweekly

Keeping inventory of raw materials and finished goods on site monthly

Communicating with 3rd party warehousing companies to arrange pickup of raw materials biweekly

Using our distillery management software to track movement and use of materials and finished goods daily

Secondarily:

Learning our distillation and blending practices

Assist our Distilling team with distillations and blending

Monitor still steam inputs and distillate outputs

Drain and clean still post-distillation

Clean blending tanks and totes

Thief barrel samples for testing

Prepare blended liquid for bottling

 

The candidate must:

Care about their safety and the safety of others

Have a valid driver’s license

Be comfortable driving a fork truck and 18’ box truck (non-CDL)

Be able to lift 50 lbs safely

Be able to work overhead and in a crouching position

Be comfortable working on a computer with emails and data entry programs

Be flexible in the hours and days they can work

Beverage production experience is a strong plus. Warehouse experience is a plus.
