Starting Your Club: A Guide to Consistent Revenue

Presented by: Kelly Woodcock, High Bar Works

Starting a subscription club can be daunting, particularly when you’re also managing inventory, trying to get or maintain distribution, staff your tasting room and keep the lights on among a million other things. This presentation aims to show distilleries that a club can help reduce big brand consumer biases by linking them to the story behind the brand (just like the wine club the consumer is already familiar with), is a viable path to build your brand around your target audience (and have them help you grow it), is a key driver in growing the brand to a size that makes sense to a distributor and supports bringing consumers into your tasting room (for more sales and a deeper dive into the brand).

About the Presenter

Kelly Woodcock serves as a consultant for the spirits industry focusing on bringing direct paths to consumers for spirits companies previously not done in the industry. Previously, she worked at Westward Whiskey for over 13 years as Vice President and Oregon General Manager. In her role, Kelly oversaw direct to consumer (DtC) programs while also leading Westward’s hospitality operations at three locations: the Westward Whiskey Distillery tasting room and the two Westward Whiskey outlets at Portland International Airport (PDX). Kelly is an advocate for the voice of craft distilling. In 2024, she was elected President, Board of Directors, for the American Craft Spirits Association after serving as Vice President and Head of the Market Access Committee. Additionally, she served as Legislative Co-Chair for the Oregon Distillers Guild
