Before starting Big Thirst Marketing, Matt achieved marketing results for world leading brands in the U.S. and Europe as an Executive Vice President & Managing Director for Cohn & Wolfe and as Marketing Director for Dell. While working in marketing full-time, he pursued an avocation in the beverage industry on the side as a freelance writer and blogger, winery tasting room associate, and wine and spirits salesperson. He honed his expertise through the pursuit of industry certifications including Certified Specialist of Spirits, Certified Sommelier, Certified Specialist of Wine, and Level III. Matt is called upon as an industry expert as a judge for cocktail competitions, wine awards, and culinary competitions, and has spoken at several events including as a speaker at SXSW, as a food critic on the Bravo TV series, “Best New Restaurant,” as a keynote speaker for the “Texas Hill Country Wine Symposium,” and as the emcee for The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas “Rare & Fine Wine Auction.”
