Webinar: Starting Distillery Quality Programs
$59.00
Description
When?: Thursday, January 27th from 3-4 PM Eastern
What?: Meeting TTB and FDA requirements is a great start to building a QA program. Some basic lab equipment and training can go a long way to ensure label compliance. Additionally, an easy-to-use recall plan can set a distillery up for success if a FDA recall ever takes place. However, spirit producers should have programs in place that co-exist with production to prevent mistakes from making their way to a bottle. We have all heard the saying “one bad bottle can ruin a brand”. Well, how do you prevent this bad bottle from ever reaching a customer? There are some simple testing and quality programs every distillery can implement to ensure batch consistency and product quality. Throughout the production process there are key times where sensory testing can be used to monitor product quality, saving a company time and money.
Who?: KassaDee Herring- Quality Assurance Supervisor, Bently Heritage Estate Distillery
I am a new kid on the block when it comes to the alcohol industry. My background is in academic research and analytical chemistry. I joined the Bently team in 2018 and was tasked to build a quality program. To be honest I had a learning curve to overcome, and a lot of our programs were put into place after making mistakes. We have learned a lot along the way, and I am proud of our current department and growing quality programs. I am happy to share our testing regime and hope to lend valuable information to my fellow craft spirit producers.
