Lakeward Spirits is searching for a Head Distiller to join our team.
Lakeward Spirits is a dynamic and growing environment to work in. We operate in a 118 year old lovingly restored Barrel Factory with large scale hospitality operations. Our production operation is poised for significant growth and we need the right person to “lead the charge.”
The successful candidate should be ready to work collaboratively and energetically with the owners to chart Lakeward’s new product offerings. This individual must have the discipline to manage all aspects of production of our suite of current products and the visionary creativity to lead the development of a range of new products including RTD (Ready To Drink) cocktail offerings.
- Oversee all aspects of production including raw material procurement, milling, mashing, fermentation, distillation, blending, bottling, CIP and proofing.
- Maintain the highest levels of safety and cleanliness in all production areas
- Maintain all TTB and State regulatory records including recording all aspects of processing. Familiarity with Whiskey Systems is a plus.
- Focus on quality and excellence in all aspect of operation
- Ability to interface with the public during tours, tastings etc.
Specific requirements:
- Minimum of 21 years old
- A refined nose and palette
- Ability to blend and develop flavors.
- Innovative and Creative in new product development for liqueurs and RTD offerings
- Willing to submit to and pass a background check
- Experience hiring and managing a team
- Computer literate
- Attentive to detail and deadlines
- Knowledge of distillation and associated equipment with the ability to maintain and repair equipment as needed.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Minimum of 2 years of distiller experience and a demonstrated track record of success.
- Competent as a forklift operator in close quarters
- Ability and willingness to support sales department as needed
