We’re looking for a Master Distiller to lead production with expertise, creativity, and a commitment to uncompromising quality. This role oversees distillation, blending, aging, bottling, and team leadership—driving both daily execution and long-term innovation. The ideal candidate balances hands-on skill with big-picture thinking and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small production team, setting standards for safety, consistency, and quality.
- Manage all distillation processes, ensuring precision, flavor consistency, and efficiency both hands-on and managing others.
- Oversee barrel aging and blending programs, including barrel health, rotation, and batching.
- Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and equipment, including preventative maintenance schedules.
- Direct bottling operations and coordinate co-packing to reduce production downtime.
- Ensure compliance with TTB regulations and maintain accurate records and SOPs.
- Manage raw material, bulk spirit, and finished goods inventory with strong forecasting alignment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of distilling experience, including leadership roles
- Deep knowledge of distillation, fermentation, blending, and barrel aging
- Strong understanding of compliance, documentation, and safety standards
- Proven ability to manage teams and scale operations
Preferred Experience
- Startup or high-growth distillery environment
- Formal distilling education or certifications
