Tax reform is making headlines.
ACSA’s Legislative Affairs Committee is feverishly working to reduce the burdensome Federal Excise Tax (FET) on your behalf. NOW is your time to join us and act.
FET reform must be a part of the House and Senate tax bill language. Our legislation, H.R.747 has more House Co-sponsors, 284, than ANY other tax bill in the House. S.236 has 51 Co-sponsors. The bill will reduce the FET for craft producers from $13.50 to $2.70 per proof gallon removed from bond.
Call your House Members who serve on the House Ways and Means Committee and Senate members who serve on Senate Finance TODAY, NOVEMBER 1ST. The attached spread sheet identifies your State. Talking points are also attached. If you do not have a Member on the Ways and Means and/or Senate Finance Committee – call your Congressman and Senators and tell them how important it is to include H.R.747 & S.236 in the major tax bill.
If you have any questions, please call or email me. We know there is strength in numbers so are counting on you.
Cheers —

CALL TO ACTION: FEDERAL EXCISE TAX BILL UPDATE
Small Distiller Parity
The AMERICAN CRAFT SPIRITS ASSOCIATION (“ACSA”) is your industry association. As one of the first undertakings of the ACSA, the Legislative Working Party is continuing the work, preparing a bill for introduction at the Federal level which would reduce your Federal Excise Tax rate by 80%, to match the kind of discount enjoyed by craft brewers and small wineries. This bill will free up cash to hire additional staff, to buy a new still, to pave your parking lot. Do it today.
Our Fight to Reduce the FET Continues into 2017
ACSA, together with an alliance of industry trade groups, pushes for support for the Craft Beverage Modernization and Tax Reform Act of 2017 (CBMTRA). CBMTRA is a comprehensive legislative proposal that would give you growth, investment, and new job opportunities
