Emil Jättne and Joe Santos are the co-founders of Brooklyn Gin. Brooklyn Gin believes in doing things the right way, even if it might take a little more effort and time. Since its founding in 2010, Brooklyn Gin has been proudly handcrafted one batch at a time using artisan methods and the finest natural ingredients. It is the only gin made with fresh, hand-cut citrus peels and hand-crushed juniper berries. Brooklyn Gin was awarded the prestigious double gold medal at the 2015 New York World Wine & Spirits Competition. Joining accolades won: gold medal at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, gold medal at the 2015 Craft Competition, 91 points and a rating of “Excellent, Highly Recommended” at the 2015 Ultimate Spirits Challenge; the double gold medal caps what has become a banner year for the award-winning “New American” style gin.

Michael Shannon (Restless Spirits Distilling) is a 5th generation Kansas City Native of Irish descent.  His rich Irish American heritage is the cornerstone of the brands and stories that make up the Restless Spirits family of spirits.  Mike is a long-time brand and product development expert who has focused much of his career in the consumer products arena – having worked with well-known brands including Bic, Newell Rubbermaid, H&R Block, and Avery-Dennison.   He has international consulting experience and has facilitated the import of numerous products into the US market from the UK and Ireland.

Paul Tamburello (The Family Jones) is a real estate developer by trade, but an entrepreneur at heart. He’s been an instrumental catalyst for Denver’s Lower Highland neighborhood for the past 20 years, using his vision for infill development and adaptive re-use to give new life to some of the older buildings. It is also home to one of his early passions, Little Man Ice Cream.

Paul’s eye for design has been well-honed over the years and he lives by the motto “familiarity destroys wonder.” Many of his projects have been recognized for their design contributions, among them Mayor’s Design Awards and Historic Preservation Awards in Denver’s built environment.

Inspired by the story of Sipsmith Gin, Paul joined forces with Denver-based distiller Rob Masters in early 2015 to create The Family Jones, a family of award-winning craft spirits with a boutique distillery and tasting room in the Lower Highlands and a production facility in Loveland, CO.  The care and attention for what’s inside the bottle is mimicked in the branding as well as the tasting room, affectionately known as the Spirit House. Architecturally stunning, the building formerly housed a tattoo studio and art gallery, and was renovated to include a sophisticated bar/restaurant on the ground floor and the custom Carl Still holding court on the mezzanine. The Family Jones spirits are rapidly growing throughout Colorado and now feature several house-made whiskies, call and well spirits and a line of ready-to-drink cocktails.

Paul’s mission is simple; develop buildings and businesses that will endure for residents and the community for years to come, and create spaces where people can gather and make memories of their own.
