Stephen Hopkins, Aimsir Distilling (Portland, OR)
Stephen Hopkins and his wife Christine founded The Aimsir Distilling Company in December of 2020. Their goals were to create a product and environment to bring people together and enjoy each other’s company. Stephen previously was a chemist and always joked he had distilled lots of stuff before but nothing you would ever drink. Once they started getting serious about forming Aimsir, Stephen attempted some home distilling and would distill a case of Hamm’s as a party trick for his friends.
Melissa Katrincic, Durham Distillery (Durham, NC)
Melissa Katrincic serves as President/CEO and is the creative mind behind the Conniption Gin brand. Starting her career in the sciences with a degree in Physics from Bryn Mawr College, along the way carved her own path leading her to become a savvy marketing and operations executive.
Bringing her marketing and operations skills to bear, Melissa has led Durham Distillery to become an international award-winning producer of Gin. In addition to her work at the distillery, she is an advocate for craft distilleries and gin in the United States. She recently served on the American Craft Spirits Association’s COVID-19 national task force focused on hand sanitizer, was Vice President of the Distilling Association of North Carolina, has lobbied for the industry to the U.S. Congress in Washington D.C. and spoke as an invited expert of gin for the American Distilling Institute. She is a member of Les Dames d’Escoffier and Women of the Vine & Spirits and is an authority on North Carolina spirits.
