About Your Presenters

Amanda Boroughs (Marketing & Events Manager, Tenth Ward Distilling Company) has been with Tenth Ward since early 2018. She began with Tenth Ward as a freelance graphic designer and offsite event support member, and later became a full-time member of the Management team in Fall 2018. Amanda draws from a decade of marketing and graphic design experience working with a variety of industry members including information technology, legal, education, fitness, and more. She is not only extremely passionate about her role at Tenth Ward but also as a member of craft beverage industry. Amanda brings a creative and spirited approach to marketing challenges and thrives on developing innovative solutions.

Amber Pollock (co-founder and partner at Backwards Distilling Company) began her involvement in the distilling industry seven years ago, with the founding of the distillery where she has been responsible for directing marketing, customer and community relations, and the tasting room and cocktail program.  She founded the Wyoming Distillers Guild, which has been in operation for three years and she currently serves as the president of the organization. She also has experience in economic development and currently serves as vice-chair for the Casper Area Economic Development Alliance board (CAEDA).  As part of her role with CAEDA she coordinates the entrepreneur activities of Breakthrough 307, a newly formed angel investment fund, aimed at creating an ecosystem of entrepreneurship in Wyoming and getting early stage companies the funding they need to get off the ground.

Mark A. Vierthaler (Head Distiller, Tenth Ward Distilling Company) came to distilling through bartending through public relations through journalism. He has specifically worked to develop craft cocktail programs in more rural areas, with extra focus on local ingredients and better drinking education. Mark is a published cocktail and spirits writer, and was named one of 40 Red Coat Cocktail Apprentices at Tales of the Cocktail in 2017. Mark has won multiple medals for his distilling work as well as developed award-nominated tasting room cocktail programs for craft distilleries and numerous special events.

Mark is unerringly committed to education in the distilling space, currently serving on the Education Committee and Guild Committee for ACSA and on the Education Committee for the Maryland Distillers Guild.
