Production Assistant - Deerhammer - Buena Vista, CO
Distillery Production Assistant / Bartender
This job is a full-time hybrid position consisting of work as a whiskey production assistant, as well as working behind the bar at Deerhammer’s tasting room.
The ideal candidate will have a love of whiskey and how great things are made, a positive get-after-it attitude, and feel rewarded by hard work with a great team.
Experience in either whiskey production, brewing and/or a strong culinary background is preferred. During the spring, fall and winter, the majority of time will be spent in some facet of whiskey production. A typical work day might include milling grain, mashing, bottling, cleaning... Shifts are variable and may include evening, weekends, long days.
Other relevant experiences/qualities such as being able to repair equipment, speak clearly and effectively about the Deerhammer brand, work extremely well with an existing team and maintain an ultra-positive attitude.
Able to perform repetitive tasks with strong attention to detail, physicality to lift 50lbs without issue and the ability to troubleshoot anything/everything is critical.
During the busy summer season, this position will be weighted towards our in-house beverage program — slinging craft cocktails from behind the bar, giving distillery tours and providing an overall phenomenal experience to our guests.

Deerhammer Distillery is an independent, family owned grain to glass distillery — since 2012 we’ve produced a range of whiskies including American single malt, bourbon, rye and Corn whiskey. Our production is executed with a 20bbl mashtun, x3 700 gallon open fermentation tanks, 650 gallon pot still (stripping), 250 gallon pot still (spirit).
