We’ve experimented quite a bit with ISC profile toasts followed by char #1 (and have tasted some of 4+ yo versions of that from bigger distilleries). There’s definitely something cool there… Specifically from our experience and the samples I tried …..at 4yo you really can’t easily tell which is char 1 with profile toasts and which is char 3 or 4 without toasts from an extraction standpoint… just different flavors. YMMV.
