What?: As consumers continue to develop a taste for bitterness, we take a deep dive into the hottest segment within the liqueurs category. Our panel of amaro producers will explore ingredient trends, production methods and overall best practices in amaro making and marketing.
Who?:
• Brandon Conley, Director of Operations/Head Distiller, Brucato Amaro: Throughout his eight years in the spirits industry, Brandon has overlooked and worked on the entire bourbon production process for innovative whiskey brand Cleveland Whiskey, creating and implementing standard operating procedures, spearheading the research and development of new products, building a winning team, managing inventory & the supply chain, and maintaining daily operations. With the help of his team (and everyone at CW), he has helped double capacity and sales, to helped expand to multiple states (and even overseas).
In 2022, Brandon moved to the Bay Area to take on the role of Director Of Operations/Head Distiller for Brucato Amaro (www.brucatoamaro.com), where he is in charge of helping build their distillery in the historic Mission neighborhood of San Francisco, set to open to the public late-Summer 2024
• Jamie Hunt, CEO & Founder, Fast Penny Spirits: Jamie Hunt is the CEO and Founder of Fast Penny Spirits, a woman-owned and operated, B Corp certified, amaro distillery based in Seattle. After a successful career launching innovative digital products and experiences for global companies, Jamie left the tech world with the goal of having a positive impact in the world. With Italian family roots and a love of delicious food, she set out to make an exquisite and sustainable amaro as her opportunity to show up, support, and empower others. Through their Pretty Penny program, the distillery gives 3% of bottle revenue to organizations that support women, communities, and the beverage industry. Jamie has utilized her astute business acumen to successfully launch during a pandemic and drive consistent growth for the award-winning amaro distillery.
