Re: 2016 Legislative Policy Conference Washington, DC: June 7th & 8th
The American Craft Spirits Association (ACSA) continues to work on your behalf to improve the business climate for your distillery and our small craft spirits industry.
As you know, we came close to securing passage of the FET reduction last December and are working aggressively to attach it to revenue bills before the election this fall. Come be a part of our efforts as we offer, together with the Distilled Spirits Council (DISCUS), a joint Legislative Policy Conference in Washington, DC on Tuesday, June 7th and Wednesday, June 8th. The agenda offers a mix of policy briefings and reports on additional ways to expand your business. Our main feature will include an opportunity to meet with home state legislators in the U.S. Congress and expand Congressional support to lower the federal excise tax (FET) on distilled spirits.
Schedule:
We will kick off the conference with a policy briefing on Tuesday, June 7th at 10:00 am at the Holiday Inn Washington Capitol. The session will include an exclusive briefing from TTB Administrator John Manfreda and his senior staff; updates on key federal and state legislation; an economic briefing and review of 2015 sales by DISCUS Chief Economist David Ozgo; and a discussion of how to export products abroad and expand into new markets in the U.S. DISCUS will also be hosting a reception that evening for the attendees.
Wednesday, June 8th will begin with a breakfast and feature remarks from a leading Member of Congress who is working to reduce the tax burden on our industry. Following breakfast, you will have an opportunity to meet with members of your home state delegation in Congress. ACSA and DISCUS will schedule those Hill meetings once you confirm your participation in the conference.
