What:

Not all tech is bad for your mental health—in fact, some of it can be a positive game-changer. In this webinar we’ll cut through the noise to spotlight tools that genuinely help reduce stress and enhance overall wellness. There are a mind-blowing number of apps, virtual reality, and wearables on the market that promise to help with different aspects of mental health. By some estimates there are over 15,000 digital mental health products on the market and in app stores. Many are great and many more are junk, so how do you decide what is right for you? We’ll explore which tech solutions are backed by science, how to use them intentionally and break down some of the costs. You’ll walk away with a clear idea of products that are evidence-based, within your budget and right for you. Technology is not the enemy of mental health; it can be a tremendous help and this webinar will show you how.

Guest Speaker:

Matt Vogl’s passion for mental health led him to found the National Mental Health Innovation Center (NMHIC) at the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus, in 2015. As Executive Director, Matt led a team of committed professionals to help accelerate the pace at which new technologies are responsibly developed to better treat and prevent mental illness, promote mental wellness and destroy stigma. He later spun NMHIC into the private sector as VXVY Mental Health, where he is currently the CEO.

Matt has become a leading national voice on mental health reform, new approaches to wellness and treatment, and the use of technology to improve people’s mental health. Matt has lectured and been featured in the media internationally, including keynotes at the World Conference on VR and Industry in Nanchang China, and a TEDx talk on the use of virtual reality in mental health.

Before taking on leadership of the NMHIC startup, Matt served as Deputy Director of the University of Colorado Depression Center and managed the national program expansion for the Nurse-Family Partnership; a program for first-time, low-income mothers. Matt earned degrees from Marquette University and the University of Minnesota and now lives in beautiful Golden Colorado.

Matt also has a not-so-secret life as a professional comedian and spends his scarce free time spending time with his sons, photography, kayaking, collecting really weird glasses and cheering in vain for the St. Louis Cardinals.
